OUTREACH/ NHM Summer Social 2022

We recently teamed up with The Natural History Museum’s Explorer Programme to welcome natural historians from Black, Asian, Arab and other racially marginalised backgrounds to our first Summer Social. Attendees were able to meet others studying or working in fields related to Earth, environmental, or ecological science as well as enjoy talks by early career scientists and participate in group discussions and skills workshops.

The Linnean Society, the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal Society of Biology, the Earth Science Women’s Network and the British Geological Survey also joined us, to showcase the opportunities other organisations in this sector can offer those navigating a career in natural history.

OUTREACH/ WIN a pair of tickets to Fire of Love opening screening!

To celebrate the release of brand new documentary Fire of Love, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to an opening night screening at London's BFI IMAX on Friday 29 July.

Fire of Love explores the extraordinary story of Katia and Maurice Krafft, who lived capturing the most spectacular imagery ever recorded of their greatest passion: volcanoes. For two decades they roamed the planet, chasing eruptions and documenting their discoveries, leaving a legacy that enriched our knowledge of the natural world.

To be in with a chance of winning,
register before 12:00 on Thursday 28 July.
